Setting Follow Properties

Follow Properties are defined in two locations of a DisplayController

  • defaultFollowProperties → Defines follow properties for the entire group to respect

  • partFollowProperties → Defines follow properties for parts with given tags


Common Properties (In both defaultFollowProperties and partFollowProperties)

  • followType

    • Determines how the group will rotate, in respect to the entity it's following

    • Values: PITCH_AND_YAW, PITCH, YAW, BODY, NONE

    • Zombie at 0 yaw

    • Zombie at 45 yaw

  • teleportDuration

    • Determines how many ticks it will take for the model's rotation to update with the entity its following

  • pivotInteractions

    • Whether Interaction entities should horizontally pivot (PITCH_AND_YAW, YAW, BODY) around the entity as the group's rotation updates

  • stateFilter

    • Determines if the listed animation states should enable/disable the follow property

    • If blacklist is true, the listed states will DISABLE the follow property


defaultFollowProperties exclusive properties

  • deathDespawnDelay

    • Determine how long it should take for the group to despawn after the followed entity dies

      A value of -1 keeps the group spawned


partFollowProperties exclusive properties

  • id

    • Uniquely identifies each part follow property in the file

  • partTags

    • The parts with the supplied tags that should respect the part follow property
